New secure messaging features to securely send documents from DPC.

New capabilities to send documents securely from DPC.

InfoMedix

InfoMedix is pleased to announce a new feature in its Digital Patient Chart (DPC) application This new feature provides the ability to send documents from DPC to external recipients via approved secure messaging providers. This means that discharge summaries, results or other documents can be selected and sent to the patient’s GP or specialists at external organisations.

The enhanced document send capability allows users to:

  • Select single or multiple documents to be sent with a cover letter to an authorised recipient selected from a provider directory search
  • Support for multiple secure messaging providers via a federated provider directory service
  • Searching of provider directories with checking to ensure the recipient is capable of receiving documents electronically
  • Receive relevant documents from authorised external sources, and incorporation into the correspondence section of the Digital Patient Chart
  • Silently log all inbound and outbound messaging activity. Subsequent releases will provide improved visibility of document transmission for non-administrative users

The solution also ensures:

  • Interoperability and message exchange with different secure messaging enabled software products by utilising standardised HL7 messages (REF-I12 and MDM-T02)
  • The ability to securely exchange messages based on current and future Australian encryption standard.

The first phase of this new capability will be included in release 4.6.0 of the DPC product and will be available for upgrade from Q1, 2021. Future updates to the functionality will then occur in 4.6.1 and following releases.
