Not-for-profit private hospital provider St John of God Health Care has signed a contract with clinical software vendor InfoMedix to expand its digital patient record in six hospitals in Western Australia.
The contract follows the implementation of the digital patient record in seven St John of God hospitals in Victoria over the last 12 months.
The WA contract includes existing user St John of God Midland, along with the group’s hospitals in Murdoch, Subiaco, Mt Lawley, Bunbury and Geraldton.
It is live in SJOG Ballarat, Geelong, Bendigo, Berwick, Frankston, Warrnambool and Pine Lodge hospitals in Victoria. It also recently signed a new contract to roll out version four of the record at SJOG’s two sites in NSW, Burwood and Richmond.
InfoMedix CEO Jeff Smoot said the extension of the contract across the remainder of the sites will provide clinical staff with access to patient medical record data, including radiology and pathology results and referrals, enabling the hospitals to move to paperless records across all departments.
“Clinicians will be able to view their patients record from their mobile device, when they need to, further enhancing clinical efficiency,” Mr Smoot said.
He said the company’s philosophy was to co-design its solutions with clients, and has developed the digital patient record in the Amazon Web Services cloud environment.
“Our objective is in supporting our clients’ individual strategies, allowing us to support our clients regardless of whether they are on premise or want to migrate to cloud and for them to implement additional modules as their needs and budgets allow,” he said.
He said InfoMedix software was now operational in over 70 hospitals around the country, including all state hospitals in Tasmania.
The company was bought by private equity firms Sante Capital and ARA Capital in 2018 and is transitioning itself into a digital platform that can integrate with other digital systems and electronic medical records.
It has also added the Clinivid secure clinical communications app to its product suite.
